Meta robots can interfere with canonical tags. If a page has both meta robots set to noindex, nofollow and canonical tags, the canonical tag may be ignored.

If you have an HTTPS page, you’ve taken the correct step in ensuring overall site security.

If your canonical tags have an incorrect URL, you’ll need to update it to point to the correct URL.

A canonical tag may be set on a page but include no URL. This error means that Google will ignore the directive.
